The recent testing on 4 West has returned negative. There are some residents continuing to recover from COVID-19 in this area. Another round of testing on 4 West will be conducted on Tuesday, December 6th. On our 2 East, Rehab unit, which was recently cleared of COVID-19, unfortunately, we had a staff member develop symptoms and subsequently test positive for COVID-19. This employee was in contact with patients during their infectious period. Patients and their representatives when applicable have been notified. Testing today, of patients residing on 2 East have all returned negative. Additional testing will be conducted on Monday, December 5th to determine any extent of transmission. We continue to encourage our patients/residents, families and team members to protect themselves from COVID-19 while here but also when they are out in the community. Following the infection prevention principles that we are all so familiar with. Frequent handwashing, wearing your mask appropriately over your nose and mouth and social distancing are measures we can all take to protect our most vulnerable populations. We will continue to provide updates here as we know more.
