COVID-19 Family Update 11-25-2020

Yesterday we sent an additional 107 staff swab samples to our laboratory for testing for a total of 319 swabs. At this time, we have 215 results back from samples that were sent this week. We anticipate the remainder of the swab results to be returned soon. We have detected one positive nonclinical individual that has been excluded from work. This individual has not had any resident contact.

We have begun contact tracing and are in communication with the Maine CDC, following their guidance. As recommended by the CDC, we will continue to monitor all residents for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.

All residents and their representatives have been informed of the positive case as of today and are encouraged to check back here for ongoing family updates.

As you can imagine, keeping COVID-19 out of our facility is an incredibly challenging undertaking. We thank all of our staff in all departments for their diligence in keeping all of our residents safe and free of COVID-19. We began this pandemic by being one of the first facilities to go into lockdown back in March and have implemented strict infection control practices that keep our residents safe.

Should there be any positive cases in residents or additional staff at d’Youville Pavilion we will post another update with the plan for testing and how this impacts the care provided to your loved one.
