Yesterday, we were informed of a clinical contracted staff member that had been in our facility seeing select residents that tested positive for COVID-19. This contracted staff member was vaccinated. The residents and their roommates that were in contact with this individual were tested late yesterday, resulting in 1 positive resident on one of our LTC units. We have been in consultation with the CDC and will be testing all residents and staff today. Additionally, we have halted visits and outside appointments until we have a clear understanding of any transmission that could have taken place. The impacted resident is asymptomatic and has also been moved to our dedicated COVID-19 unit. Our nursing team is currently in the process of updating all residents and their representatives (when applicable). We will continue to be in contact with the CDC in the coming days and will update everyone as we know more.
