Today we started another round on staff and resident testing. All 34 residents on unit 3 West were swabbed along with 208 staff members. Those tests have been sent off to the lab for processing and we are hoping to hear results tomorrow. Unfortunately, as we saw last week, the results were delayed briefly, and it took a little more time for processing. This was likely due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in our surrounding community. In Androscoggin county, the transmission rate is currently 4.1%. With the significant transmission with our community we are asking visitors to consider the safety of their loved ones, other residents and our staff during their visits with us. During visits we ask visitors to wear their mask throughout the visit regardless of their vaccination status, stay in the designated visitation space to minimize interaction with other residents and staff and encourage their loved one to wear a mask while they visit for both indoor and outdoor visits as they are able to tolerate.
We will continue to provide updates regarding changes to guidelines and results from our outbreak testing.
