Yesterday, we completed a round of our surveillance testing on staff that are not up to date with vaccinations. This morning we learned that two of those tests returned positive. One of the employees, has worked on our Memory Care Unit, 3 East. Today we tested residents on 3 East and discovered 2 asymptomatic residents that are positive for COVID-19. The test that we perform on our residents also tests for influenza. Incidentally, we also found 4 residents on 3 East that are positive for influenza. All of the residents’ responsible parties have been notified and we have implemented enhanced infection prevention in this area. We also encourage visitors to postpone their visitation if able. The other staff member has not had contact with residents. Another round of staff/resident testing will be completed on Tuesday, May 17th. Additionally, we completed another round of resident testing on our Rehab unit due to the positive resident from earlier this week. Those test results have returned negative.
